• Multiple modes of operation in one unit (USB Adapter, Direct Connect Devices):
• Keyboard Emulation
  Transmit data just like a keyboard (default mode). In this mode no additional drivers need to be downloaded all drivers are provided by the operating system (Windows 95OSR2, 98, Me, 2000, XP, NT, VISTA, Netware 4.11, 5.0, HP Unix, Linux, Apple computer MAC OS 8.6 or higher, Sun Microsystems)
• Advanced Keyboard Emulation
  Transmit data just like a keyboard but at a much higher speed. Additional drivers need to be installed on your computer in order to take advantage of this mode of operation. Drivers available soon, check back here for free drivers in the near future (Windows 95OSR2, 98, Me, 2000, XP, NT, VISTA).
• Serial COM port
  Transmit data to a virtual COM port under Windows 95OSR2, 98, Me, 2000, XP, NT, VISTA. If you have an application that requires data to be received via the COM port (i.e. COM1, COM2, COM3, etc.) you can create a virtual COM port and have all USB data transmitted to the COM port for your application. Drivers available soon, check back here for free drivers in the near future.
• HID Format
  Our USB products conform to the USB Human Interface Device (HID) Class specification Version 1.1. Use of the HID driver allows for a direct communication path to be established between the Host application using standard Windows API calls that communicate to the device via Vendor defined communications (Windows 95OSR2, 98, Me, 2000, XP, NT, VISTA).

• OPOS (OLE POS)
  Transmit MSR data compliant with the OPOS specification. OLE for Retail POS provides an open device driver architecture that allows Point-of-Sale hardware to be easily integrated into POS systems based on Microsoft Windows 95OSR2, 98, Me, 2000, XP, NT, VISTA. * We can email also, upon request.

 

• Optimized for Point-of-Sale input devices delivering fast data throughput (USB Adaptor, Direct Connect Devices):
  If you have ever used other USB keyboard input devices, you might have noticed how slow they output. The Scan Technology USB interface is designed to send the data nearly twice as fast as most others. In the point of sale environment where data comes in bursts from Point-of-Sale peripherals, fast data throughput is paramount.

 

• Auto-Reconnect technology will restart the device if the host should stop communicating (USB Adapter, Direct Connect Devices): Have you ever had a USB device that just seemed to stop working, but when disconnected and then reconnected it suddenly started to work again? Scan Technology has solved this problem by constantly monitoring the communication status with the host and then reestablishing a connection if one is lost.

 

• Robust PS/2 keyboard input interface on USB adaptor works with ALL keyboard devices:
  Scan Technology is a technology leader in the implementation of the PS/2 keyboard interface. Our PS/2 to USB adapter implements the full PS/2 keyboard protocol. Any device that complies with the PS/2 keyboard interface will not overrun the adaptor with data. The input device does not have to change its transmission speed to work with the PS/2 to USB adapter. Just plug it in and go.

 

• Connect multiple keyboard wedge devices and a keyboard together into one USB adaptor (“Daisy-Chain”):
  Example: One USB adaptor can be used for PS2 Keyboard, bar code scanner & magstripe card reader.

 

• Full Programmability (USB Adapter w/ 2000M & 4000M, & USB Direct Connect Magstripe Card Readers):
  Scan Technology 2000M & 4000M Magstripe Card Readers with either USB direct connect cable, or PS2 Y Cable with STI-PS2-USB adaptor cable can be configured using our UNVPGMR - Windows Program.

Our 2000M & 4000M utilizing our Multiple-Mode Direct Connect Cable or STI-PS2-USB Adapter can transmit data in a variety of modes: Keyboard, Serial - RS232, & HID Device with a single Adaptor.
